Xiaomi has recently released the MI UI 10 Global version. And people are really loving the changes and upgrades Xiaomi has made with its new UI. Even the Stock Android lovers like me are also impressed with Xiaomi’s new MI UI update. It contains some cool new features, better optimization, better user interface, and some bug fixes as well. In this new iteration of their UI, Xiaomi has included some Android P features also, so that people who are still stuck in Android N or O can get some feel of the all-new Android version on their old phones.
In this new upgrade, Xiaomi has introduced the Gesture feature which is very similar to I phone X. This feature is one of the coolest smartphone trends nowadays and makes your smartphone experience even better.
But as of now, these Gestures are only available for the Xiaomi phones with software navigation buttons or with the 18:9 ratio displays. So if your phone doesn’t fulfill those requirements, Xiaomi is not going to give you those updates. So here we have written how you could use those features on any Xiaomi phone.
Fluid Navigation :
App download link: Fluid Navigation
This is the app you need, to experience the Gesture feature, which Xiaomi is not going to give you any time soon. This app is still on the Beta stage and it is listed as the Unreleased app on Play Store. The developer Francisco Barroso is doing well with the Bug Fixes and updates so that it could get a stable app version as soon as possible. Though it is on the Beta stage I have not found any kind of Bug while I was using it. Currently, it has 10K downloads on play store but I think it is going to be more popular very soon.
The best part is, the app is only 1.5 MB in size.
The app supports two main gestures: ‘Quick swipe’ and ‘Swipe & Hold’ which can be triggered from the bottom or side edges of the screen. The side triggers are only available on the bottom half of the screen, allowing you to still access other app side menus.
You can download and install the app from the play store. After that, you have to give the app the permission to Display over other apps and the permission for Accessibility. And you will be all set to try Trending Gestures of the new Generation Smartphones.
In case, you are trying it on a device having software navigation keys, you have to go through some additional steps:
The app has a built-in option to hide the software navigation keys (if necessary) but it requires either root or a pc is required to grant a system permission.
1 – Enable Developer Mode in the Android settings.
2 – Enable USB Debugging
3 – Install Adb (links bellow)
4 – Run the following adb command to grant the permission
adb shell pm grant com.fb.fluid android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
./adb shell pm grant com.fb.fluid android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
You can restore the navigation keys using the app or by run this adb command:
adb shell wm overscan 0,0,0,0
./adb shell wm overscan 0,0,0,0
