The Oppo Find X: an honest review.

Well by now you have seen most of the reviews of this particular product several times (Only if you are a geek). But here’s an honest review of The brand new Oppo Find X from my side.

Lets look at the spec sheet first:

The Oppo Find X comes with a 6.42-inch AMOLED display with 2,340 x 1,080 resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio . It contains an onboard storage of 256GB and also 8GB LPDDR4 RAM with no support for MicroSD card. It has the all new powerful Octa-core Snapdragon 845 Processor clocked up to 2.8Ghz.

Coming to the highlighted part of every phone the camera which has the Rear one of 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture + 20MP sensors with f/2.2 aperture. The secondary camera is a 25MP ??wait.. What.. ok acceptable.
The most eye-catching feature is the phone’s the pop-up mechanism sandwiched between the front and back of the phone, which hosts the selfie camera and 3D facial recognition sensors like the Flood Illuminator, an Infrared camera, proximity sensor, Dot Projector and receiver on the front (Phew!, Oppo did some work!).

The Battery is that of 3,730mAh capacity with an obvious non-removable and also comes with OPPO’s VOOC Flash Charge (5V/4.5A)It comes with a Dual nano-SIM tray and comes out of the box Android 8.1 Oreo with Oppo’s ColorOS 5.1.

My opinions: However, it’s not all smooth sailing. The Find X is missing more than a few features.
For one, Oppo ditched the fingerprint scanner, forcing you to use face unlock instead, making us wonder whether the Google Play Store and other services support Oppo’s alternative solution already. If not, that makes for a major inconvenience right off the bat.

Other missing features include wireless charging, microSD expansion (it has plenty of internal storage though), an IP rating, and a headphone jack. The latter two omissions are rather interesting, because one refrain from some brands is that they ditch the jack to enable water resistance.

Final Verdict : Though the screen looked awesome (without the notch, I mean) and the phone’s Pop up Camera mechanism really did contain all the sensors which iPhone X had but I am personally not interested in this type of mechanism.
Vivo knew about it so they limited it with only the front facing camera I guess and instead put up an in display fingerprint scanning solution.

Anyways we can expect OPPO to launch the Find X in India, soon. Till then stay tuned to suggestmetech.com for more coverage of the Find X.
